Hangli Electronics Co., Ltd. is a mid-sized manufacturing company in Southwest China, and one of only a few highly specialized in manufacturing high voltage electric components, and electronic control equipments.
The company is a traditional order-to-cash manufacturer and most of its processes are around order, procurement, planning, assembly, and logistics. Previously, processes have been isolated and mostly completed by hand and on paper leading to poor information flows. To keep up with the competition, the company contracted GTSS to provide a total solution and build Hangli’s IT infrastructure.
After two months of survey and consulting works, GTSS has proposed a phased IT buildup plan, and to meet budget requirement, GTSS designed and engineered a Comprehensive Management Platform (CMP) from ground-up. The Phase-I CMP contains following functional modules (partially ERP and SCM): contract management, procurement management, planning and production, inventory, and cost management. The Platform was built using the latest J2EE technologies including Eclipse, Webwork 2.2.6, EXT.JS 2.0, and Hibernate 3.0. Some other common tools were also used including Dreamweaver and Oracle 9i.
The deployment of CMP has largely eliminated the isolation of information flow within company departments. All order information and suppliers are promptly updated, reviewed, and managed on a click. Inventory, production planning, assembly, and cost are integrated and data can be linked together and presented in graphics and other desired formats. In the later stage, PLM and CRM functions will be added into the Platform to construct a complete IT solution and infrastructure. |
